10 glorious Bollywood movies that tickled our funny bone

Comedy and Bollywood go hand in hand. There is no dearth of comedy movies. It is really difficult to choose from. There have been hundreds of comedy movies from the Black and White era to present day color. Many of the black and white movies have been re- released with color in the recent times. We bring to you some of the best Bollywood comedy movies which will leave you roaring with laughter. From slapstick comedy to real good humor , here we are:

  1. Half Ticket (1962):
    This was one of Kishore Kumars best movies. Story line is of an adult pretending to be a youngster to gain entry into the train with a half ticket as he has money just sufficient to buy a half ticket. A diamond thief hides diamonds in the pocket of the youngster who behaves like an eccentric. How he outwits the thief is the story.

  2. Padosan (1968):
    A village simpleton falls in love with his neighbor. How he tries to woo the girl with the help of his friends is what to watch for. It is a light hearted romedy which is a must watch. Great songs and acting is something to look out for.
  3. Chupke Chupke (1975):
    A masterpiece by Hrishikesh Mukherjee which leaves you light and happy after watching it. Excellent acting by Dharmendra and Sharmila Tagore. A newly wedded professor works as a driver in his wife’s family and the pranks he plays with the knowledge of his wife and friends. He has mocked the English language. A worth watch.
  4. GolMaal (1979):
    A jobless man desperately in need of a job gets to work with Bhavani Shankar who believes in traditions. He does not like people who do not have moustache. What happens when the man shaves off his moustache is to look out for.

  5. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983) later re- released as ” Who pays the piper”:
    It is about 2 friends who put up a photo studio and they come across reality like corruption in politics, administration, media etc. Hilarious movie from beginning to end.
  6. Andaz Apna Apna (1994):
    2 men, Amar and Prem try to out do each other to woo a rich man’s daughter. It is a romantic comedy
  7. Chachi 420:
    Great comedy by Kamal Hassan. The film is about a couple Jai and Janki who have filed for a divorce. Jai is allowed to meet his daughter only once a week. Janki is in search of a nanny for their daughter. Jai takes this opportunity and transforms himself and dresses himself as Lakshmi and gets the job of a nanny. Watch out more to see what happens next. It is simply hilarious.
  8. Ishq (1997):
    A hilarious movie about 2 sets of friends. A poor boy falling in love with a rich girl and vice versa. A must watch.

  9. Hera Pheri (2000):
    A classic movie of 3 unemployed men who try to make easy money and what happens in the process is worth a watch.
  10. 3 Idiots (2009):
    Two college time friends are in search of their best friend. In the process of finding their friend, they are refreshing their memory of their college days. Great performance by all of them. From beginning to end it is a great watch.
